Exchange Vows at Candlelight Ceremony
A candlelight illuminated altar in the Hamburg Methodist Church was the setting at 4 p.m. June 17 [1978] for the wedding of Sue Anderson [HHS72] and Darrel Moen [HHS71] . The Rev. Alden Smith officiated at the ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Anderson of Hamburg and the son of Mrs. Herbert T. Moen of Hamburg and the late Mr. Moen.
The bride wore a white satin gown v which she made. It was fashioned with a lace trimmed V-neckline, lace cap sleeves and an A-line skirt falling into a chapel train. A matching lace Juliet cap held her floor length illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of white daisies intermingled with baby’s breath and peach sweetheart roses.
The bride’s attendants also made their own gowns. Miss Kathryn Jamison [HHS73], maid of honor. was attired in a blue gown with a matching jacket and blue picture hat. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Paul Krusko and Mrs. John Kent [Karen Moen, HHS72], sister of the groom, wore similar blue ensembles. They all carried colonial bouquets of white daisies, baby’s breath, ice blue and purple statice.
Flowergirl, Tammie Kent, niece of the groom, wore a light blue gown and carried a nosegay of daisies. Ringbearer was Jeremy Michael Bapst, nephew of the bride. He carried an embroidered satin pillow made by the bride. Best man was Mark Drews. Serving as ushers were Gerald Bapst, brother of the bride, and John Kent.
After a motor trip through Canada the couple will be at home in Grand Island.
